About Agent Skills

Agent Skills are folders of instructions that agents can load on demand. Each skill is a directory with a SKILL.md file (YAML frontmatter + markdown body) and optional supporting files. Use them in public ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Claude Code, and other skill-capable agents.

Install a skill

Open any skill in the catalog. Copy the install command, or download every listed file and place them under <slug>/ in your agent’s skills directory, then reload so the agent discovers the skill. Skill pages also offer a chat-agent paste with links to SKILL.md and supporting files for ChatGPT-style agents.

Typical install from this catalog:

npx skills add https://skills.merze.ai --skill <name>

Skill layout

• Folder at the catalog root named with the skill slug (lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens; max 64 characters).
• SKILL.md with required frontmatter:
  • name — must match the folder name
  • description — 1–1024 characters
  • Optional metadata.version, source, category, tags
• Optional supporting markdown (and allowlisted text/data files) published beside SKILL.md.

This site rebuilds from every root */SKILL.md. Invalid name or description, a name/folder mismatch, or a disallowed file type in a skill folder fails the build.
